About Me
I think every college English major dreams of one day writing the great American novel. Well, I did, but I certainly wasn’t Faulkner or Fitzgerald or even Dan Brown. So, I spent a lifetime pursuing other careers in business. When I finally started pounding the keyboard to write a memoir of my twenty-year love affair with Italy, a quirky story narrated by my dog, Dino, I never dreamed it would be the beginning of a new career path for me. But that’s just what happened. Since that first book, there have been three middle-grade fantasy adventure books, two children’s picture books, and a cozy mystery. A sequel to Dino’s story and a second mystery will be released in late 2024.
Before starting my writing career, I wore many hats (and I left them in restaurants all over Italy). I’ve been a business consultant, small business owner, wine importer, English teacher, and slave to many pets of all types. When I’m not writing, I’m taking care of my dogs, baking bread, working jigsaw puzzles, keeping in touch with friends on social media, or preparing for visits from my son and his family. I live in California with my husband, Jim, an American Eskimo dog named Dino, and a little Doodle named Mia.
Writing, however, is not my entire life. There are the dogs. During Covid, we decided that Dino needed a playmate, and along came Mia, a little Doodle who turns out to be Chiara’s astute sidekick in The Glass Ceiling Club. Oh, and then there is baking. I do a lot of baking too.
